Over the past three years, the Historical Society of Washington, D.C. has honored eight Washingtonians and D.C.-based organizations whose enduring contributions to our community have helped create, define, and preserve our city’s heritage.
The Making D.C. History Awards is an annual event that supports the mission of the Historical Society and honors it as one of the city’s most important locally-focused cultural institutions. The 2015 awards will celebrate the accomplishments of the following distinguished honorees who have left their marks on Washington.

Presented by The Historical Society of Washington, D.C. in the Carnegie Library at Mt. Vernon Square, 801 K Street NW. Business attire.
The evening will feature a honoree reception with past and the 2015 award recipients, the awards committee, and the Board of Trustees followed by a catered awards presentation highlighting D.C.’s diverse neighborhoods and tributes to each of the evening’s honorees.
The awards will be followed by an after party to help continue the celebrations in the night.
