2008 Parade Float Information
Participating in the Capital Pride Parade is an exciting opportunity to support the community while showing off your company in the best light. By now, you have either decided to be in the Pride parade or are seriously considering it. Of course, you may have concerns about the time, money and actual logistics of building a float. We hope this information will ease your concerns.
Building a float is easy, fun and best of all; it won't take a lot of money. These resources will give you options to make your company or organization the best float for 2008!
Both Victory Corps and Valley Decorating provide car decorations and float supplies like vinyl floral sheeting, multi-colored fringe and decorative lettering. Both sites also provide excellent detailed instructions on how to construct your float.
Happy float building!
- Float dimensions may not exceed:
- 9 feet wide
- 53 feet long
- 14 feet high (street to highest point).
- Trailers must be towed by an accompanying vehicle and have a turning radius of not less than 90 degrees.
- As a reminder, all cars and vehicles must be registered. A vehicle pulling a float is considered one (1) float. Additional vehicles must be registered and will incur an additional fee (see Parade Pricing for more details). Vehicles will be required to display credentials in order to participate.
