DC Vigil for Club Q Victims
Tonight (11/21), starting at 5:30 pm, join members of the LGBTQIA+ community at the Dupont Circle Fountain for a candlelight vigil to mourn and honor the lives lost and impacted by the Club Q shooting in Colorado Springs, Colorado — on what was the eve before Transgender Day of Remembrance.
We will gather to show solidarity with the LGBTIA+ community of Colorado and their allies to demonstrate that their LGBTQIA+ family in Washington, DC, as well as millions around the world, stand with them in love and support as we honor the memories of those lost and those who are healing from the violence in Colorado Springs. This dreadful attack was on a cherished safe space and sadly follows far too many brutal assaults that we have witnessed over the past several decades. From our nation’s capital, we will unite in grief and shock as we observe a moment of silence.
Participants are encouraged to donate directly to Colorado Gives, the official organization receiving contributions to assist the victims of this tragedy.
This event is hosted in partnership with the Mayor’s Office for LGBTQ+ Affairs, the Capital Pride Alliance, Center for Black Equity, Pride Fund to End Gun Violence, and members of our LGBTQ+ community.
