Joy Ladin, Ph.D. Gives the Annual Pride Month Lecture at Ohr Kodesh
Joy Ladin, Ph.D., author of The Soul of the Stranger: Reading God and Torah from a Transgender Perspective and Through the Door of Life: A Jewish Journey between Genders will deliver the annual Ohr Kodesh Pride Month lecture on Sunday, June 6 at 7:15 PM via Zoom. This lecture has been made possible by the Ohr Kodesh LGBTQ Inclusion Task Force.
Dr. Ladin is a teacher, essayist, poet, and literary scholar. She holds the Gottesman Chair in English at Stern College for Women at Yeshiva University. She is a nationally recognized speaker on transgender issues and on gender and Jewish identity. Dr. Ladin has been featured on the NPR program On Being with Krista Tippet and gave a TedX talk entitled Ain’t I a Woman? Dr. Ladin is a recipient of the Hachamet Lev award from Keshet, the Jewish LGBTQ advocacy organization, in recognition of her advocating for and modeling LGBTQ equality in her public life.
