SAAM Pride Family Day

Celebrate Pride at SAAM! Join us outside the museum on the F and 8th Street plaza and march to the beat of DC’s Different Drummers. Enjoy a dance party with DJ Rosie, followed by a kid-friendly drag show featuring some of DC’s finest performers, including Ruth Allen Ginsburg, Desiree, Emerald Star, and Molasses. Take your creativity to go with step-by-step Pride crafts. Choose from Pride flag-inspired jewelry (ages eight and older), a multi-colored weaving (ages five and older), or a cloud and rainbow streamer craft (ages three and older). When you’re ready to cool off, head inside the museum for a scavenger hunt for all ages. Throughout the month, visit our Pride Family Zone web page for coloring pages and craft instructions.  Please note that this in-person program is weather-permitting. Craft kits are one per child, while supplies last. Registration does not guarantee a craft kit.
