The Capital Pride Alliance congratulates President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on their tremendous victory and the historic nature of Vice President-elect Harris’s election to that office as the first woman and person of color. We thank everyone for fulfilling your civic duty in support of our intersectional community by showing that #StillWeVote to make our voices heard. The LGBTQ+ community and our allies did not accept anyone being told that our votes and lives don’t count or matter. Our rights represent the foundation of American values and we recognize that prejudice, inherent racism, and systemic oppression are viruses that attack the greatness of America and ones that we will work to defeat.
